I can definitely believe this article. I come from a middle class Midwestern area and have heard many women my age (early twenties) say they wanted or were glad they had one because "they didn't want to f*** up their vagina".

Hearing these positive stories about thriving preemies do tug on the heartstrings, but I agree that we need to be realistic. It's not a matter of telling parents that there baby isn't worthy of being kept alive or depriving an elderly person of expensive medical care.

i dont believe it s the womans condition that will traumatize her children. the harm will be from her parents filling them with false hopes
